LYME DISEASE I had it I'm not sure how long I went with it, I do know it is no cake walk. What I learned from the long event is, when logging the old way with a chain saw and felling wedge's and axes working in the brush insect repellant is a must ( with deet. )Also which is of "most" importance is that, If you are bitten, Get to a doctor within 24 hours and they can prescribe to you an oral medication, several day's worth of (Doxycycline ) which can stop it then and there. Not all ticks are are infected themselves.You can save the tick and bring it with you to your doctor and have it tested also, However you will still be treated.Lyme disease can attack virtually any system in the body. Some of the first symptoms may include a flu-like condition, with fever, chills, headache, stiff neck, achiness, and fatigue. Other symptoms can include pain in various joints and muscles, neurological problems, heart involvement, problems with vision or hearing, migraines, low-grade fever or other symptoms. Lyme disease is often mistaken for other illnesses since the symptoms often mirror other medical problems, such as multiple sclerosis, arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus or Alzheimer's disease. In the some cases, Lyme disease patients can become paralyzed and/or comatose. Lyme disease symptoms may come and go and be replaced by new symptoms. Symptoms may be subtle or pronounced.

The photo of the log end and scale stick below is an example of how the sawmills measure the board footage in a log, the scale stick has 1" increments with the estimate's of footage in 8'10'12'14'16' ft logs,this is the international 1/4 rule,this 1/4" is figured as the thickness of the saw ,each pass the saw turns 1/4" into sawdust. Deduction's can be made due to rot,sweep,poor cutting measure,insect damage, ect.Also the grade of a log (effects price paid)is also effected by these deductions and knot size demension also length in some cases.
This particular log below was in real good shape and was 12' long and 19" across inside of the bark, the scale indicates 190 board ft.
The term MBF means (1000 bd ft) which is how mills and loggers use as a benchmark for measurement, also pulpwood or chips would be measured by the ton,and firewood by the the cord which is a pile of hardwood generally, 4' length 4' high by 8' long tightly stacked unsplit, if a cat was to chase a squirrel to the pile and the squirrel goes through and the cat has to go around that would be a cord.
